Lisa Lawson is the administrative specialist for services for students with disabilities. In this role, Lawson is the first point of contact for greeting and assisting students, faculty, and the community. She schedules appointments, disseminates information, and assists with testing in the SSD Testing Center.
Lawsonr received two associate of applied science degrees from New River Community College with one major in administrative support technology and the other with a specialization in medical administrative support. She also holds a certificate as a medical office assistant.
Before coming to Virginia Tech, Lawson spent several years as an office manager in a small business, working in the Human Resources department of a large manufacturing plant, and as an office manager for an accountant.
Lawson has played an active role in working with various ages of students, from teaching, serving on PTO boards, and volunteering with college students in Chi Alpha. She enjoys meeting and assisting the students at Virginia Tech.
