Students may request special housing accommodations due to a medical condition, disability, or other situations that may affect a student’s living on campus.
If you indicate the need for a special housing accommodation on your housing contract, Housing and Residence Life will send you an electronic link to the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) website to download the special housing accommodations request forms.
The required forms are available upon request from Housing and Residence Life (phone: 540-231-6481, email: firstname.lastname@example.org) or Services for Students with Disabilities (phone: 540-231-3788, email: email@example.com), or you may download the Special Housing Accommodation Packet and print them yourself.
Fall 2017 deadline
The deadlines for submitting special housing accommodations requests to SSD for consideration for fall 2017 are:
- Friday, April 7, 2017, by 5:00 p.m. for returning students
- Friday, July 7, 2017, by 5:00 p.m. for new students.
All requests must be in delivered and in the SSD office by this date and time.
The Special Housing Review Committee will review each request on a case-by-case basis. Special housing requests may be granted based upon the severity of the condition, availability of space, and the timeliness of the request.
