SSD Testing Center
The purpose of the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Testing Center is to support faculty with providing testing accommodations for students with disabilities. The SSD Testing Center exists to assist Virginia Tech with meeting legally required needs of students with disabilities. SSD aspires to do so in the spirit of inclusivity and in a way that reduces stigma and stress for students. The SSD Testing Center balances these goals with the recognition that faculty have many responsibilities, an appreciation for academic rigor, and a commitment to maintaining academic integrity. In the 2012-13 school year, the SSD Testing Center administered more than 1,980 tests for students. This number does not include tests that faculty arranged in other locations
The SSD Testing Center has provided thorough information and guides for faculty and students regarding testing accommodations below. It is a privilege to use the SSD Testing Center, not a right. Failure to comply with these procedures, or violations of the Honor Code, can result in a student losing the privilege of taking any or all exams at the SSD Testing Center.
Contact the SSD testing coordinator at email@example.com or 540-231-3788 if you have questions. If you need additional information, assistance, or modifications to testing policies contact the SSD Testing Center support specialist at firstname.lastname@example.org.
