Students with Disabilities
Virginia Tech is committed to providing appropriate services and accommodations that allow identified students with disabilities access to academic programs. To achieve this goal, the university provides services through Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).
To be eligible for services, students must identify themselves to the SSD office. Students may be required to provide any available documentation of their disability. Students should not delay connecting with SSD out of concern for not having the right disability documentation. The SSD staff member working with the student will discuss the specifics of any third-party documentation that is needed.
To get started, just follow the steps below:
- Schedule an appointment by calling SSD, email, or visiting the SSD office in lavery Hall, Suite 310, to schedule your appointment.
- Meet with a disability counselor to discuss disability history, educational barriers, reasonable accommodations, and the next steps.
