Matt's Bio

Matt Shelor, M.S. serves as a Disability Counselor for Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). He meets individually with students with disabilities who are interested in connecting with SSD and assists them to determine eligibility for receiving appropriate accommodations. He functions as a guide and resource for students and faculty in support of students’ civil rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as Amended in 2008.

Matt joins us from New River Valley Disability Resource Center where he previously worked as an independent living coordinator. He holds a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Development with a concentration in Student Affairs from Radford University. He is a member of the National Council on Independent Living and is an active supporter of disability rights.
